Ingredients

  • 4 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 table spoon olive oil
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 liter broth
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until translucent and slightly caramelized.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the oats and cook for 2-3 minutes
  4. Add the broth and bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Season with thyme, salt, and pepper. Garnish with toasted onion slices or chopped parsley.
